Like you, I’ve struggled with the stress, overwhelm, and confusion that comes with being a teacher. I even took a year off from teaching because I was so burned out. I knew I wanted to be a teacher that inspired my students and give them the tools to navigate life better, but there was just so much information out there to sift through. Add that to the unending demands of the day-to-day goings of running a classroom, and I often felt hopeless.
I created Roadrunner Reading as a way to utilize the successful tips and strategies I have learned over the years to address my students’ reading difficulties. I create age-appropriate resources and focus on literacy’s essential elements: phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Now I want to share what I have learned with you. Reading is an act of empowerment. As a teacher, you have the tremendous opportunity to change your students’ lives for the better, and I honor you for that.
Students need teachers like you — dedicated, inspirational, and remarkable. But every great teacher needs guidance from those that have traveled the road before. Allow me to take you on the journey from confusion to confidence. Your students deserve the best from you, and you deserve to have the legacy you know you are capable of leaving.
Happy Trails,
Dawn
